Why Coco Bolo?
“Much like cocobolo wood, no two pieces are exactly alike.”
The name Coco Bolo was inspired by cocobolo, a beautiful hardwood native to Central America. The wood itself is known for its rich colour, distinctive grain, and natural character. Central America is also a meaningful part of my family's heritage, so the name felt like the perfect connection between my roots and my love of creating things from natural materials.
That's something I love about working with wood. Every board has its own grain, character, and imperfections. When you add a personal engraving, it becomes something that belongs to one person, one family, or one story.

I've always loved making things.
I'm an artist, creator, and graphic designer. For me, the most rewarding part of running Coco Bolo isn't simply making a product. It's hearing the story behind the order, why someone chose a particular design, who they're giving it to, or what milestone they're celebrating.
Sometimes it's a newly married couple.
Sometimes it's a new home.
Sometimes it's a family recipe engraved onto a cutting board, passed down for years to come.
Those are the projects I love most. Every piece is designed and personalized with care, and I take pride in creating gifts that feel thoughtful, useful, and genuinely one-of-a-kind.
How Your Board Is Made
From sketch to board
Every board starts on my screen and finishes on my laser engraver in Edmonton. The precision of the laser means fine lines, delicate florals and small script come out crisp and clean, so your design looks exactly like the proof you approved.

I lay out every piece on the computer, fitting the text and artwork to your board.

You get a digital proof by email. Nothing is engraved until you approve it.

I engrave each board myself with a precision laser, then finish it and get it ready for pickup or shipping.
